Welcoming Week is dedicated to fostering an inclusive community, bringing together public and private organizations along with local residents to support and celebrate Grand Island’s immigrant and refugee populations, while promoting a culture of welcome and belonging.

Each year the Heartland United Way hosts a tour of diverse Grand Island businesses called the 4th Street Business Tour.

The Heartland United Way and volunteers serve up tasty treats at the Nebraska State Fair, in an effort to raise money for the various organizations we serve in our four-county area.

Scoops will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. outside the Cattle Barn.

The World's Largest Totally Irrigated Working Farm Show plays host to a food drive that has collected nearly 17,000 pounds of food in 2024. Donations are distributed to 21 local backpack programs, food pantries, and shelters. 

Collecting for the Heartland United Way’s 2025 Husker Harvest Days Food Drive will begin at grocery stores from August 22nd to September 5th.

All community members, which includes YOU, are invited to join the Heartland United Way to celebrate the work accomplished in 2025.
